Experience a whole day out on the tranquil bird island Mykines. Mykines is a protected Ramsar site because of its rich bird-life and outstanding natural beauty. Walk among the birds in one of the biggest puffin colonies in the world, on your way to the famous white lighthouse at the westernmost point of the Faroe Islands. Enjoy our organic packed lunch of home made bread with traditional local toppings and quench your thirst with natural spring-water.
What To Expect:
When you get to the islands of Mykines, you will be greeted by a local guide, and the amazing tour begins. Lunch and bottled water will be provided for you for the hike, so all you will have to do, is to enjoy the wonders surrounding you in this majestic place. The hike to the famous lighthouse takes approx 1.5 Hour each way, and you will have plenty of opportunities to take photos of the many Puffins, Gannets, Guillemots and other bird species along the way. Back in the village you will have some time for yourself to explore the small, remote village before your guide shows you back to the ferry.

Arriving in Sørvágur at the ferry: Inform your name to the man standing next to the ship with the passenger list, and he will give you the prepaid tickets.
Departure Time: 10:20 AM ( meet at least 20 min before departure )
10.20-10.50 Enjoy the sail trip from Sørvágur to Mykines, where you will see sights such as Múlafossur waterfall, Tindhólmur and Drangarnir.
11.00 You local tour guide greets you welcome to Mykines, and tells you about the daily to day life in the small island
12.00 The hike begins and you will walk along some of the most beautiful scenery the Faroe Islands has to offer. You will be surrounded by thousands of birds especially puffins, and you will have plenty of time to stop and take as many photos as you like.
14.00 Arriving at the westernmost point of the Faroes, where the famous lighthouse is located. here you will see a lot of another special type of bird, the Gannet, which only lives in Mykineshólmur.
14.30-16.00 Hiking back, and the local tour guide takes another route back, to ensure you will see as much as possible on your tour.
16.00-16.40 Enjoy the last hour in the village by yourself or accompanied your tour guide. There are two small café’s and a small souvénir shop, that definitely is worth a visit.
Return Details The ferry sails at 17.00. ( meet at least 20 min. Before departure )
