We invite you aboard to see the wonders of the everlasting beauty of Vágar Island. We offer a memorable sightseeing tour that you will remember for the rest of your life. We offer a safe and unforgettable trip to our guests, and we go to great lengths to make this the trip of a lifetime.
We will pick you up on Tórshavn harbour, from where our drivers will take the mountainous route to Norðadalsskarð. We take this route because it introduces our guests to the extraordinary view to the island of Koltur, and the trip itself is surrounded by beauty.
After sightseeing for a while, our bus enters the 4.9 km long sub-sea tunnel beneath the Vestmanna strait that is linking the Islands of Streymoy and Vágar. We take you to the idyllic villages of Sørvág, Miðvág, and Sandavág. Then, our bus drivers stop briefly at the Museum of World war 2 where you are introduced to the remnants of war. From there, we visit the breathtaking village of Bø. We then take you to Gásadal—the home of the most famous and breathtaking waterfall in the Faroes, named Múlafossur which has been described by many as the most beautiful waterfall in the world.
The small village is situated in a big valley with high and dramatic mountains. Looking out to sea, there is a free view from here to the island of Mykines. Right up until 2004, when they dug a tunnel to the village, the village was isolated, and only accessible by hiking over the mountains, or by helicopter. Gásadalur was the last village in the Faroes to get connected to the rest of the “world”.
On our way back home, we will also look at the strange yet beautiful natural formation of Trøllkonufingur. Trøllkonufingur can be translated to “The Witch Finger” and is a breathtaking rock formation that resembles the finger of a witch, hundreds of meters high, plunging straight down into the ocean. There is a lot of lore and stories around this finger, and our tour guide will be sure to tell a good story or two.
